How Much Water Should I Drink Daily?

One of the most common but important questions you may have been asking around is, how much water should I drink daily? The answer’s not that simple.

You may have heard from every source that the optimum amount of water you should drink per day is 8 glasses or 2 liters. But it does not apply to all human beings. Each of us needs a different amount of water depending on our body’s metabolism.

Take two persons, for example. One of them barely does any heavy work; another one is involved in a heavy intense work-out schedule. Do you think their bodies will require the same amount of water? No, they won’t.

The amount of water you’ll need to stay properly hydrated depends on some key factors.

The weather around you matters. It influences the amount of water you lose while breathing or through sweating.

Your water consumption is also affected by how much exercise you perform. The more you work out, the more water you’ll need.

Your physical condition also determines how much water you’ll need to function. Different diseases have various impacts on water consumption.

Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers require more water than others as they lose more water than the average human being.

An average female body needs 2.7 liters and an average male body needs 3.7 liters of water a day. One thing to note is, we consume water from different sources too. For example, food, beverages, etc.

Usually, we consume 20% of the total water through food. The rest of the amount should be taken directly.

We lose water from the body in different ways such as urine, breathing, bowel movement, sweating, etc. So it’s important to fulfill the amount our body requires to function properly.

As we know, the lack of water can cause a lot of trouble for our bodies. Drinking sufficient water is the cheapest and easiest way to stay healthy. Drink water in between your regular chores or whenever you’re thirsty or even hungry.

Stay healthy and keep yourself hydrated.
